This would be an article that we never thought would be possible to write as the subject is so mind blowing really. And yes, the headline is correct believe it or not. An old Volvo V70 is now up for auction at Dupont Registry for a staggering $20 million US! How is that possible then, one might wonder. Well, no disrespect to Volvo (we love our fellow Swedish automaker) but the value of this extremely expensive car sits on the famous registration plate. This New York registration plate, which could be custom made in New York in the late 1970s’, has sat on the same family’s cars for over 40 years. In fact the registration plate is a piece of New York’s history, therefore copies of it are selling as souvenirs in the Big Apple. So, if you have some $20 million US to spend, don’t buy a Lamborghini, Ferrari or Aston Martin: buy this Volvo V70 instead!
