A unique Jean-Michel Basquiat and Banksy exhibition
The Hirshhorn Museum in Washington, D.C., is hosting a unique exhibition bringing together the works of none other than Jean-Michel Basquiat and Banksy. The year-long show features Basquiat’s famous 1982 painting Boy and Dog in a Johnnypump (which allegedly was bought by the owner for around $100 million USD) displayed alongside Banksy’s reimagined version, which critiques the relationship between street art and museums. The iconic artists are known for their roots in public art and have achieved major success in record-breaking auctions. The exhibition will also include 20 smaller Basquiat works and a screening of his film Downtown 81, running until October 26, 2025 so if you have your ways by Washington, D.C, we hope that you explore the Basquiat and Banksy exhibition!
