This quote really sums up in a beautiful way what Diego Armando Maradona meant, and means, to people. In English it translates to: “I don’t care what you did in your life. What matters is what you did in mine”.

The tragic news that Maradona passed away, 60 years old, two days ago left the whole world in tears. “El Pibe de Oro” (The Golden Kid) was an absolute genius on the pitch but had a troubled life outside of the sport. Maradona’s passion for the sport and his artistry, talent and charisma brought so much joy to the world and gave us fans all around the world memories we will never forget - such as dominating the FIFA World Cup in 86’ leading Argentina to victory and his league titles with Napoli including his tremendous impact on the city. Even though the Argentinian’s superstardom was ungraspable, he was still a human with flesh and blood at the same time he was worshiped as God. Such a contradictory statement but he really was a larger than life figure which has been confirmed, perhaps even more so with his tragic passing. So many people have paid beautiful tributes to Diego, with words, flags, songs, tifos, nr 10 shirts etc. that brought us goosebumps, so this article is only our own little way to show our appreciation and deepest respect for arguably the best, but surely the greatest football player the world has ever seen: Diego Armando Maradona.

¡Muchas gracias Diego! Descansa en paz.
