Art or theft?

The Danish artist Jens Haaning has stretched the line for what could be seen as art so that it is as close to theft as possible. How so then? Well, the Kunsten Museum of Modern Art in Aalborg, Denmark asked Haaning to reproduce two of his past works called An Average Danish Annual Income (2010) and An Average Austrian Annual Income (2007) where he had put real money on the canvases. For this quest, Haaning got $84,000 US to put on the new works but the problem is that Haaning didn’t follow the museum’s notes of reproduction and instead sent back two empty frames and an email stating that he had, “… made a new piece of artwork and changed the work’s title to Take the Money and Run.“ To conclude then, is this art or is it theft? Well either way, it's a remarkable story!
