Balmain Spring/Summer 2020 Campaign
“I want this to be a collection for today, but also for 2050 or 2060, with all the chic and playfulness and craftsmanship of Balmain, and my French touch with all the polka dots and stripes”
-Olivier Rousteing
Balmain’s Spring/Summer 2020 Collection is heavily inspired by the Eighties yet opening the way into the future. The collection is splitted in three parts. A metallic futuristic part, a black and white part with a strong focus on leather and the last part is an eccentric colour fiesta.
The runway show was a high-energy extravaganza that took place in september last year, at the verdant Jardin des Plantes in Paris, where 2000 people could watch the collection during an outdoor concert which was a fund-raiser with (RED) for the Global Fund to fight AIDS.
Rousteing’s collection included pieces such as jeans in the color of Easter eggs, tailored and motorcycle jackets with fierce lapels and weekend bags with the color of freshly polished silver.
