Bentley's electric journey
The British luxury automaker is perhaps not associated with electric cars but a change is soon coming. Bentley is working hard on electrifying its cars so from 2026 it will only offer charging hybrids and electric cars and from 2030, the plan is to only make electric driven models. Bentley is today one of the biggest producers of 12 cylinder engines so it is quite a change as they aim to have a charging hybrid option for every Bentley model in 2023 and as well as revealing its first electric model in 2025. To realise this vision, Bentley has invested in two new facilities for science and development. They also renewed its Crewe facility to be climate positive and from now on, only sustainable materials will be used in the cars. Questions appear such as what will happen with the luxurious leather seats? Well, perhaps we find the answer in Bentley’s concept car EXP 100 GT where a leather like fabric made from a bi product of winemaking, was used. As a result of today’s- and coming regulations as well as demand from the customers, the electric journey for Bentley is full on and we are really looking forward to seeing an extraordinary electric model from Bentley in the future!
