Beyond Aero's BYA-1 light jet

The French start-up Beyond Aero has unveiled an upgraded version of its hydrogen-electric BYA-1 light jet, aiming to revolutionize aviation with safer, more efficient technology. Set to be the first certified hydrogen-electric light jet by 2030, the BYA-1 integrates a 2.4MW hydrogen fuel cell system and electric ducted fans for enhanced propulsion and lower maintenance.

With its innovative design, including 700-bar hydrogen tanks for improved safety and a streamlined powertrain with fewer moving parts, the jet promises significant cost reductions and greater reliability. The aircraft, designed for business aviation, offers an 800 NM range and operates efficiently from airports with space constraints.

Backed by industry experts and significant funding, Beyond Aero is pushing forward in its quest to establish a new era of zero-emission aviation, with a focus on regulatory approval and long-term sustainability. Well, we are very intrigued to see what the future holds for Beyond Aero as its progress underscores a potential to deliver zero-emission luxury flights before the end of this decade!
