Casablanca's SS20 - The perfect Summer collection

After co-founding Parisian streetwear label Pigalle and hosting parties with Off-White’s Virgil Abloh, French-Moroccan designer Charaf Tajer founded Casablanca in 2018. Since then, the brand has made a great impact on Paris Fashion Week 2019 with it’s first runway show, collaborated with New Balance and has been LVMH prize nominated. So why this hype?

Tajer’s personal aesthetic ideal, the "après-sport mode" is a fusion between lux and leisurewear, a perfect equilibrium of comfort and elegance. Terry cloth tracksuits and silk shirts pay homage to Tajer's youth in the Moroccan city. Merging the tropical vibes of Casablanca, where his parents met, with Paris’ artisanal heritage, results in a concept that fuses the influence of travel, nature and architecture into a joyous and positive manifestation of the designer's own uplifting outlook. Made in Casablanca, designed in Paris and by applying Neapolitan tailoring techniques, the label offer pieces for wearing when the days exertions are done, but the night has not begun yet. Those magical hours, marked by their sense of ease and heady anticipation, can be the most decadent part of the day. Fusing nostalgia and a romantic outlook on memories of the past, Casablanca has become something more than just fashion. The label conveys a lifestyle, that tells us to love in the moment.
