You might already have come to the conclusion that we admire David Hockney since we previously have written several topics featuring him, and now it is time once again with news of the British artist who is considered to be one of the greatest painters in modern times. His work Tall Dutch Trees Hobbema (Useful Knowledge) will highlight Sotheby’s Evening Sale in London which launches on March 25th. The near four metres across artwork is inspired by Meindert Hobbema (a 17th Century Dutch painter) where Hockney reimagining a scene from Hobbema’s The Avenue at Middelharnis (1689) with a more graphic approach. This late work from Hockney was actually on a cover of The New Yorker in 2017 and we imagine it will be a tough fight between collectors to get their hands of this rare masterpiece. Well, both tough and expensive we should say as David Hockney’s Tall Dutch Trees After Hobbema is estimated to fetch £6.5-8.5 million GBP!
