The demand for the 200 pair of Nike Air Force One was extraordinary at Sotheby’s auction recently. The original model was first released in 1982 but the special edition in subject for this article was created by the late icon Virgil Abloh in collaboration with Louis Vuitton. The bidding started at $2000 US for each pair of shoes but increased dramatically fast. The cheapest pair fetched $75,000 US and the most expensive pair was sold for $350,000 US making Sotheby’s total sale at its Nike Air Force One auction a staggering $25 million US!
