Two UNIQUE supercars are up for auction
Sotheby's is set for an extraordinary auction featuring the 2015 McLaren P1 and the 2015 Porsche 918 Spyder. These pinnacle examples of design and hybrid performance are expected to attract global car enthusiasts and collectors, with a combined estimated value of $4.7 million USD. The McLaren P1, limited to 375 units, pays homage to McLaren's legacy, succeeding the legendary F1. This specific P1, nicknamed "The Professor," features an exclusive Professor 2 Blue color and a unique interior with seats and the car's 3.8L twin-turbo V-8 engine, combined with an electric motor, produces 893 hp making this supercar achieve a top speed of 217 mph and a 0-60 mph time of 2.7 seconds.
The Porsche 918 Spyder, produced in a limited run of 918 units, blends speed with daily drivability. This 918, example 488, is adorned in the rare factory color Mexico Blue. With a 90-degree V-8 engine and two electric motors, it delivers 887 hp, reaching a top speed of 211 mph and accelerating from 0-60 in under 2.5 seconds.
The meticulous customization of the P1 and the rare Mexico Blue color of the 918 Spyder make them extremely highly sought after. Bidding for these coveted vehicles opens on December 8, both online and in person at Sotheby's New York location and we are expecting quite a bidding fiesta!
