Vintage 1874 Perrier-Jouët Cuvée Champagne is heading to Christie's
The legendary champagne maker Perrier-Jouët and the iconic auction house Christie’s first collaborated in 1888 when the, at the time, most expensive bottle of champagne was sold at auction. This December 2-3, the famous and rare 1874 vintage Pierre-Jouët Cuvée Champagne, blended by none other than Charles Perrier (the son of the founder Perrier-Jouët), will be up for sale at Christie's Finest and Rarest Wines and Spirits Auction. The bottle held the record until 1967 as the most expensive bottle of champagne ever sold and the estimated fetch now is, to put it mildly, not low as it is between $13,700 US and $20,600 US!
