Will Banksy’s identity now be revealed?

The identity of the elusive Banksy has been a topic of speculation for a considerable period. The artist has gained global fame for surreptitiously placing artworks in urban settings, often conveying political messages. Nevertheless, the internationally acclaimed anonymous artist Banksy is now facing the potential revelation of their identity. This follows the decision of two collectors to take legal action against the street artist's company.

Nicky Katz and Ray Howse are pursuing legal measures as Banksy's company, Pest Control, has declined to verify the authenticity of the artwork "Monkey Queen." After three years of waiting, the art collectors are filing a lawsuit against the company for breach of contract. The company asserts its provision of official validation for Banksy's works. Katz and Howse, disappointed with Banksy, argue that the artist complicates the validation process.

John Brandler, a specialized graffiti dealer, further accuses Banksy of market manipulation, alleging that the artist certifies works selectively. Pest Control responds by asserting the robustness and occasional lengthiness of the confirmation process, claiming to have issued thousands of authenticity certificates.

While it would be intriguing to finally discover Banksy's identity, it would also be somewhat melancholic we think, as the artist's anonymity has played a significant role in the mystique and impact of his/her work on the global stage!
