Banksy's record breaking "Game Changer"

The painting “Game Changer” by Banksy, set a new record when it was sold at Christie’s recently. The painting was donated to the Southampton University Hospital on May 6, 2020 just as the nurses and doctors doubled their work hours due to the coronavirus. The artwork was put in the hallway of the hospital to support and motivate the employees during this difficult time. To show appreciation for the incredible work that the healthcare does, the painting depicts a young boy playing with superhero figures but it is the nurse in a cape that the little boy is most fascinated by and holds up in the air. As mentioned, the painting “Game Changer” recently set a new record for a work by Banksy as it sold for £16,7 million GBP and all income from the artwork will be donated to British healthcare and charities. What an initiative and class act from the - mysterious and unknown - Banksy!
