Chengdu Science Fiction Museum
Construction timelines tend to extend, but the Zaha Hadid Architects' Chengdu Science Fiction Museum defied this norm by finishing in just one year, remarkably accelerating the standard five-year schedule. The project, initiated in 2022, was specifically timed for the 2023 World Science Fiction Convention. Using advanced software, the architects seamlessly designed and constructed the expansive exhibition space in an impressive seven-pointed star formation inspired by celestial shapes. The museum, resembling a floating metallic structure, boasts a futuristic aesthetic while serving the purpose of hosting the 2023 World Science Fiction Convention. Paulo Flores highlighted the museum's goal in envisioning the future technologically and visually. Beyond the convention, it will persist as an educational space, yet to unveil its forthcoming exhibits!
