”Dior Tears”
The collaboration between Dior and Denim Tears, called ”Dior Tears”, is inspired by artists such as Miles Davis and James Baldwin and aims to pay homage to Black artists. Tremain Emory founded Denim Tears in 2019 and he has previously worked for brands such as Off-White and Stüssy as well as collaborating with other influential creators e. g. Virgil Abloh and Frank Ocean. Denim Tears and Dior have with the ”Dior Tears” campaign created a collection that fuses American, French and African aesthetics together in a unique way which showcases through Dior monograms that are adorned with cotton shaped like the peace sign, workwear outlines that reflect on the civil rights movement, mohair sweaters in Rasta colors and classic tailoring in conscious fabric for example.
