The Monument House in Joshua Tree

The Monument House, also known as the Schweitzer House, is now available for the public to stay at. Located in Joshua Tree, California, just outside the national park, this estate was designed by the architect Josh Schweitzer as a retreat for his friends and family. It consists of three cubic shaped buildings with trapezoidal openings that mirror the surrounding nature. The blue house mimics the sky, the orange house reflects the surrounding gazebo from flowers and boulders and the green house draws inspiration from olives and cacti. Apart from its fascinating design and its vast surrounding nature, the Monument House includes features such as an outdoor hot tub, a gazebo, a fully equipped “chef style” kitchen and dining chairs from the architect himself for example. If you have your ways around Joshua Tree, we encourage you to head over to Homestead Modern so that you can book your stay at the Monument House!
