Will Warrior become the most expensive Western artwork ever sold in Asia?

Once again we return to one of our favourite artists, Jean-Michel Basquait, as his 1982 artwork Warrior is up for sale on a live streamed auction at Christie’s in Hong Kong on March 23. The painting, which depicts a figure holding a sword, is from Basquait’s most innovative period and is considered to be somewhat autobiographical. The very expressive painting could become the most expensive Western artwork ever sold in Asia as it is estimated to fetch around $31 million -41 million USD. We are very excited to see what Warrior by Jean-Michel Basquait brings in but probably not as excited as the American collector that is now selling the painting. The vendor bought Basquait’s stunning artwork in 2012 for $7,7 million USD so he/she is about to make a great deal if the expected value of Warrior holds!
